ACADEMICS
Accreditation
The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The medium of instruction is English with equal emphasis on Hindi.
Curriculum
  • The school's curriculum is developed according to the child's mental level. At the time of admission, in consultation with the trained physician/psychologist, counsellor, special educators and social workers, special children are placed in mildly, moderately and severely retarded categories. This helps to assess their chronological and mental ages and levels of abilities from age groups of 6 to 18 years. The objective behind this grouping is to make the programmes as functional and age appropriate as possible.

  • Individual attention is meted out to the special children and progress is monitored through IEP's (Individual Education Plan) in which long term and short term goals are defined and methods adopted to achieve these goals.

  • The academic programme consists of reading/writing simple arithmetic of Primary level, environmental awareness and home management programme. The Integrated Programme consists of drawing, music, dance, creative art and craft, physical training, morning assemblies, special-assemblies on special days like Christmas, Diwali, school annual day, annual sports day and visits of eminent persons.

Trivia
  • The institute has qualified and experienced physical education teachers to impart physical education to the children. Facilities are also available for cricket, hockey, football and athletics. Students are trained to participate in inter-house and inter-school sports at district and state level.

  • On Sports Day, the Institute's Annual Day Celebrations and other school functions, the children stage a variety of entertainment programmes with socially relevant themes.

  • The prefectorial system is an essential feature of Air Force Golden Jubilee's Institute. Prefects assist the principal and the staff in maintaining discipline. They are the channel of communication between the staff and students.
